Simple dreams...

My dream of traveling around the world solo has been accomplished. I am now embarking for another dream of mine, more like a lifestyle, about living my life simply in a country I love, doing something I love because what we love inspire us and make us better.

I saw the world at my pace, without anyone influence... It was a great adventure and I've seen things I never saw before, never imagine, didn't know existed, I've learned what I couldn't have anywhere else... I met amazing people who became a part of me, like family. and will carry them in my heart forever...
At the end of my trip, I looked inside me and listen to what my heart was calling... and one of the call was to go back to my islands and a name came often, Raiatea..... I called for it, saw myself there, surrounded by nature. Back in Moorea in december, looking around me, what my people were doing to our precious land and nature, I felt the urge to change. But I learned that the change had to come from me, and I had to do what I believe was the best. "Be the change" if you want the world to change.... "Practice what you preach and believe in". Organic farming was constantly in my mind...

Here I am now, in Raiatea, working on an organic farming project, living a simple life in the middle of a beautiful nature... Au bout du monde as some people call Fetuna... Thanks to my universe force and to my friend Andy who give me the opportunity and the chance to be here...

It is amazing, I'm learning everyday from my surrounding, nature is so giving when you "listen" to her. She teaches me to live in symbiosis with her, she cares about me and I care about her... An old friend of mine told me once, "care for the land and it will take care of you"... everything becomes natural... I have vegetables growing slowly. I would like to minimize my shopping/spending to the bare minimum. I will make a list of what I'm using/buying and what I live with and you could give me advice on natural product to replace what I have.

Right now I'm trying to extract (cold pressed) coconut oil to have cooking oil, which will be more healthy and free. I will tell you more about this later when I succeed.

At the Fetuna farm, we are looking to be self sustainable & organic. Installing solar power is our next big project. We would like to use bio oil in the future to run our engines and collect water from the land and rain.

It is an amazing adventure and it can only stand as an example for a better future for our beautiful paradisiac islands, as non-organic mass production farming has no good ends, we know it.

Who ever wants to be part of the adventure and spend some time volunteering in our beautiful paradise is welcome...

"Be the change"... May this world be better... with Love

:)

Moorea last day...

Woke up and felt undecided about going surfing or not... I finally grab my board, a mango, some water and take the old jeep for my last day of surf in Haapiti before a while, a "long" drive around the island (only 30 min but you have to know that it take one hour to go around the island...)The drive is nice in morning, the air is fresh, everything is waking up with the morning golden light... people on the side of the road waiting with their kids for the school bus watch me driving by, some kids have big eyes for my car, I say hi and smile the whole way. At the little pier I wait for Fabrice. I finally manage to get a boat ride after paddling across the lagoon for five days in a row... it get me pretty tired once I arrive at the spot. My eyes get attracted by the sight of a fish, the water is quite clear... two leopard rays show up and dance a valse in front of me and disappear. A sting ray come by followed by a black tip shark... it reassure me to see shark... they are essential to underwater world balance and I love swimming with them.
The water is glassy and the background view from the surf spot is stunning. Being in the water there and seeing the island from the pass feels my heart with happiness...
The surf is glassy and great fun. We have had a pretty agitated surf since the big swell hit on sunday and it is an unexplainable pleasure to surf in this conditions with couple good friends...
Drive back home, I brake down 10 min away from the house. I can't never drive this 70 years old jeep without a break down at some point... my dad come to my rescue as usual and fix it in five minutes... I have to say that I'm cursed with old cars, I usually breakdown once a week... I have to catch my boat to Tahiti in two hours and I'm not packed yet. I drive home as fast as I can as my dad took the alternator off. I finish packing with my aunty Henriette help. She brought me some ramboutan so I can eat something.
I catch the ferry to Tahiti, ship my luggage and surfboard on the Raiatea ferry and walk to town to meet Vaiana... We drive to the tennis court and she lend me her car to get my plane ticket for tomorrow. Christelle birthday party is happening tonight. Nice cosy friendly party in the deep valley of Punaauia, the girls are happy and I'm happy to be back home, to be with my friends.

Next morning I finally get a ticket for the 10 am flight. I meet Andy at the airport almost missing my plane as the ticket office was full... but made it right on time !

Last sight of Moorea before a while... her silhouette is picturesque...

Water

Shaded blue disapearing slowly into grounded green shade… blury is my heart to your soul… blurry is the world to me… but your voice keeps me going… There I can hear you smiling… there… Underwater… I can feel your heart beating… Shattered by pounding waves... I’m alive… Swept away … I hide… I seek proctection… there you come… There I go… flying over… I let myself go… you stop pushing me away… your silence beat with my heart again… we are one… You… I… and our memories… you were there… you are here… inside me… always…
Raiatea is truly an amazing place... Snorkeling around an island in front of our house, turquoise water shells here and there, fishes blooming out of the coral reef, multicolored clams every where... the view is breathtaking... Water from the ocean coming thru the reef and pouring like waterfall into the lagoon where life is flourishing... my eyes follow the lagoon, a white sandy beach give birth to a coconut tree forest... behind it, Raiatea is standing proud and untouchable, green luxurious landscape. Volcanic mountains rises over the horizon and randomly cut the sky until they disappear again into the ocean... another island rise on the ocean, Huahine... I close my eyes... and feel... live... smile... the night is rising... an orange full moon slowly undress herself over the lagoon...
